Journey to China

This blog documents the Spitlers' progress towards the adoption of Xia Ping He (Noah Spitler) from the PR China. It also documents Noah's medical process in pursuit of a total repair to his CHD (congenital heart defect).

Flight Prep

The girls are excited about Wednesday's trip. Olivia keeps walking through the room, saying "I just CAN'T wait!"

Our first flight (Atlanta-Chicago) will only be 2 hours, and on an Airbus 319 - probably one that I flew back in 2003. We'll then have a 3 hour layover in Chicago, and get on the B777 for a 13 hr+40 minute flight to Beijing. We'll depart at 12:20pm, fly straight north over the North Pole, and land in Beijing at 2:40pm on the following day (Thursday). At that time, you will be asleep, as the time zone difference is exactly 12 hours from EDT. We are hoping to sleep many of the hours away on the plane, obviously, to help adjust to China time.

The adoption agency will have our guide / translator waiting for us outside customs, and she (Sarah) will help us on our way to the Beijing Courtyard NE, where we hope sleep will find us.

Here are 2 pictures I found of the B777 we'll fly on.
