Journey to China

This blog documents the Spitlers' progress towards the adoption of Xia Ping He (Noah Spitler) from the PR China. It also documents Noah's medical process in pursuit of a total repair to his CHD (congenital heart defect).

LID arrival!!!

I cannot explain the joy and excitment that this morning has brought to all of us. The Lord is good and He has blessed us with our LID (Log In Date-February 26,2010). What this actually means is that our file for Noah has been officially logged in at the Chinese Children Adoption Agency in China. From this point they estimate a three to five month wait for travel. Our LID arrived sooner than we expected and we know it is because of the prayers of our friends/family and intervention of our Lord. Thank you to all of those who have been praying us through this process. Praise be to the Lord of our Universe!!!
Like I said previously, we will also be adding some time-line information about our adoption in the future. I need to go for now so I can start painting Madison's room. There is a lot of room movement going on in this house. We look forward to finishing and posting some new pictures for everyone to see. God bless---Robin

Waiting on LID

We are spending time getting everyone's room changed and rearranged. Things are kind of a mess but we will get it all organized eventually. This is much like getting ready for a new baby to be born. It is very fun and exciting. The latest on our paperwork: Our Dossier is in China and we are waiting on our LID (Log In Date). Basically, this means that our Dossier is logged in at the CCAA (Chinese Children Adoption Agency). We have been told that it should take about a week. When we receive notice of our LID the average waiting time for travel is three to five months. We would really love for it to happen sooner than later but we are praying about it and leaving it in the Lord's hands. We ask that you all continue to pray for us about the rest of our adoption process. Sometimes it is hard to be patient.
We will be adding some more information about the history of our adoption story in the near future. Thanks for the prayers everyone :)

Hello and Welcome!

Hello. Adam here. Robin and I are getting a late start at this blogging thing.... We know many of you have questions about the adoption of Noah, and we'll try to share some of that here.

I'll start with where we are right now, then we'll back up and give some background.

Our adoption dossier was mailed to China yesterday, Friday, Feb 19th. We hope it arrives there by Tues or Wed. We also hope and pray the officials there will quickly review the big document (about 13 documents, all notarized, sealed, and authenticated), so we can get our LID (Log In Date). This will then lead to a travel approval (2-3 months later) and then a travel date.

We are really hoping for June 2010 right now...but we never know. Please pray that we will be patient, knowing that God has a big plan and already knows the future. Our only hope is that we won't slow things down - so we can get him to the States and to medical professionals who can help his heart.

That's the quick (and latest) news for now. We'll be back with other info later. Thanks for your support and your prayers. Adam
